
INTERNSHIPS
There are lots of internships out there but
some of the good ones are a little hard to find. Use this list as a starting point
but do your own research and you'll probably find some additional ones of interest to you.
Internships range in length from four months up to two years. Some are paid,
some unpaid, but the experience is usually fantastic. Many of these internships
state you must be between 18-30 and unemployed, so check the requirements carefully before
you apply.

International internship exchanges for over 250 students annually in Accounting &

First Job Internship Program - Giving young Canadians a foot in the door and valuable

- Canadian Federation of
Students: Student Work Abroad Program (SWAP) - Canada's largest exchange program; work
and travel abroad.
- Career Edge - Career Edge is a private-sector national youth
internship program. The program's goal is to provide valuable, career-related experience
for unemployed young Canadians through internships within successful Canadian
organizations.
- CIDA
International Youth Internships - Gain a valuable first work experience in an
international development setting.
- Department
of Foreign Affairs & International Trade: Youth International Internship Program -
Providing youth with a first international work experience that will further the
objectives of Canada's foreign policy.
- The Environmental
Youth Corp. (EYC) allows post-secondary graduates under the age of 30 to gain
experience in a national or international environmental project.
- International Health Youth
Internship Program - Six to twelve month internship placements with organizations
involved in international health around the world. From the Canadian Society for

- International Youth
Experience - Organizes the Canada-Switzerland Young Worker Exchange Program and the
Canada-Finland Career Development Program.
- Natural
Resources Canada - Science and Technology Internship Program - The Science and
Technology Internship Program will provide relevant and meaningful work experience to
recent graduates in science, engineering or business. Also available: [Français]
- NetCorps
Canada International - Internships in developing countries for young Canadians with
skills in information and communication technologies.
- Ontario
Internship Program - Two year internships for about 100 recent college and university
graduates with the Ontario Public Service. Jobs will be available in: Financial
& Business Planning, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Policy Development
and Service Management.
- SchoolNet Youth
Employment Initiative - The program helps youth between the ages of 15-30, who are
unemployed and under-employed high school, college and university graduates with
proficiency in information and communication technology (ICT), acquire valuable
employability skills to secure longer-term careers in technology.
- United Nations Association in
Canada - Placements with the UN or UN-related agencies and organizations around the
world.
- Young Canada Works
Internships from the Department of Canadian Heritage.
